Welcome to A Not So La-Z Ranch
There's always quite a bit going on at A Not So La-Z Ranch! We are the home of the highly regarded Von Ward German Shepherd Kennels, located approximately 50 minutes east of San Diego in Campo, California. We currently have horses, a steer, chickens, turkeys, a cat, two guinea pigs, and we've also been the home of goats, pigs and sheep.
Don't be confused by all the animals, the truth is, we LOVE a critter and must have a few at all times! Most of them serve a purpose but some are simply pets. Our sheep, cows, pigs and chickens are lovingly tended until harvested. The meat chickens and egg laying hens are free-range, and the cows and pigs are often turned out to allow sufficient time to romp, play, and forage. We believe in eating organic foods and free range meat. During the spring and summer months, we stay busy in the organic garden growing fresh fruits and vegetables.
We feed and strongly recommend a raw BARF diet - Bones And Raw Foods - to all German Shepherd Dogs. German Shepherds need at least half of their diet to come from fresh raw meat in order for their bodies to stay strong, healthy, and well nourished.
